IGCS Award for Outstanding Achievement in Gynecologic Oncology Surgery recognizes gynecologic oncologists who have had a sustained career in academic surgery and have made seminal contributions in clinical surgery or surgical education that established new benchmarks or paradigms.
Nomination Form
When making a nomination, the nominator will be asked to write a brief essay explaining why they feel that the individual should be considered for this award.
The nominator may wish to include:
- Examples of specific surgical procedures or techniques where the nominee has demonstrated exceptional skill and innovation.
- How the nominee's surgical interventions positively impacted clinical outcomes for patients with gynecologic cancers.
- What innovative surgical techniques or approaches the nominee introduced or advanced in the field and how those innovations improved patient outcomes.
- Research contributions and findings the nominee has made which influenced surgical practices or patient care.
- How the nominee has contributed to the education and training of other surgeons.
- Describe any collaborations or partnerships the nominee has engaged in, particularly with other medical disciplines, to enhance gynecologic oncology surgery.
Eligibility to Nominate
- Only active members of the IGCS are eligible to make a nomination for organizational awards.
- Non-members may complete the nomination form on behalf of an active IGCS member if they enter the name of the IGCS member responsible for the nomination in the nominator section of the form.
- Self-nominations are accepted.
Eligibility to be Awarded
- Only IGCS Members are eligible to receive this award. Please check the IGCS Member Directory to determine the membership status of those you may wish to nominate.
- Previous IGCS award recipients are not eligible to be nominated for any other IGCS award for a period of 5 years.
- Individuals or organizations who received an IGCS award at any time in the past may not be considered for the same award at any time.
- Current IGCS Board Members are not eligible to be nominated.
